Abstract:

A mechanical waveguide device for frequency conversion is described. It is based on the use of the doppler effect of a shift in the frequency of electromagnetic waves when they are reflected from moving surfaces it has the special feature that, in order to increase the value of the frequency shift, it is made in the form of a ring waveguide with square cross section, splitALONG THE NEUTRAL LINE, WITH A FIXED UPPER SECTION AND A MOVABLE LOWER SECTION CONTAINING ONE OR TWO SHORT-CIRCUITED WAVEGUIDES FOR THE FORMATION OF A REVOLVING, REFLECTING, DISCONTINUITY.
