Abstract:
A survey is presented of the research work directed towards the study of radio burst emissions from the sun with a dynamic spectrum analyzer consisting of a series of sweep-fre-q ency receivers. Research is reported in 6 sections 1 a discussion of the scientific purposes of the program, 2 a brief description of the radio equipment at Fort Davis, together with its manner of operation, 3 a survey of results obtained from analysis of spectral bservations of solar radio bursts statistics of the various types of bursts, their association with flares and prominences, and their relation to emission of high energy particles from the un, 4 a summary of regularly published patrol data, 5 future programs, and 6 miscellaneous projects in Cambridge.
