Title:

Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
ON THE BASIS OF A STUDY OF VOICE MESSAGES INVOLVED IN INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS IN Navy radar air traffic control centers, a visual signaling system was developed to replace andor supplement voice transmissions. Operation of the prototype system at NAS Miramar showed that it increased the flow of instrument traffic and reduced the noise level in the center. The visual communication system showed sufficient promise to warrant design of similar instrumentation to ADAPT IT TO THE VARYING REQUIREMENTS OF OTHER AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL FACILITIES. Author
