Title:
HETERODYNING OF LIGHT
Corporate Author:
FRIEDMAN (MORRIS D) WEST NEWTON MASS
Report Date:
1961-02-01
Abstract:
An analysis is given of heterodyning of light, the mixing of 2 optical spectral lines whose difference frequency is in the microwave band of radio frequencies by using a photoelectric converter. A review is included of the paper by A. T. Forrester, R. A. Gudmundsen, and P. O. Johnson Phys. Rev. 991691, 1955, which describes experiments in which the production of the interference of 2 incoherent light emissions was accomplished. The review offers an explanation of the experiments, and a description of the equipment used.
