Part II A preliminary study of the comparative reactivities of some C-Ge, C-Si, and C-Sn bonds is reported. Benzylgermanium bonds are shown to be cleaved much less readily by aqueous ethanolic alkali than are analogous benzyl-silicon bonds, while the latter are less readily cleaved than benzyltin bonds.
