Abstract:
The Bomarc weapon system is being developed for the defense of large areas against attacks by bombers and cruise-type missiles. The program hasadvanced to the point where the IM-99A, having a 300-lb warhead capacity is being developed from the prototype model, and the advanced Bomarc IM-99 interceptor, with a 600-lb warhead capacity, is in the preliminary design stage. This report is a feasibility and design study of warheads suitableprimarily for the IM-99 , although recommendations are also presented for the IM-99A.
