Abstract:
Volume II, which is intended as a guide in solving the problem of noise control, discusses the ways in which acoustic noise can be undesireable. The topics treated in particular are basic bio-and psycho acoustic data effects of noise on human behavior and human response criteria for noise control. Several subjective responses were analyzed and correlated with properties of the physical stimuli. Definitions of bio-acoustic terminology are given with a description of the anatomy of the ear and the properties of aural protective devices.
