Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to present a methodology for unsteady flow analysis in vibrating transonic compressor cascades, using Euler equations. After a brief discussion of the problem, the numerical algorithm is presented, for the 3-D case, with particular emphasis on grid displacement procedures, slip-surface-fitting, boundary-conditions and their effect on computational results. Chorochronic flow periodicity and modal superposition are briefly discussed. Several results from realistic aircraft engine turbomachinery configurations are presented.
