Abstract:

In this work photoinduced phenomenons iron-doped C 0,01 0,038 0,05 0,07 wt. and copper-doped C 0,01 0,025 0,04 wt. lithium niobate and lithium tantalate single crystals have been investigated using the Raman scattering RS and IR-reflection spectroscopy. The following types of lasers were used as illumination sources YAGNd3 lambda 10640 A helium-neon 6328A Ar5145, 4880 A He-Cd4416 A. A number of studies shows the existence of photovoltaic effect PVE in this crystals consisting of high voltage electric field appearance in illuminated regions. The PVE field is 1000 vcm. in nominally pure crystals and that is 100,000 vcm in the doped crystals. At the same time it is known that the electrogyration effect could take place with the external electric field imposed on the crystal.
