Abstract:

Fatigue management requirements and techniques have evolved over a period of 40 years or more. This paper provides an overview of these developments. An historical summary is presented covering the introduction of the different monitoring techniques ranging from the simple V-g recorder through to the multi-channel systems with on-board processing that now exist. The paper concludes with a summary of the main requirements for modern systems and then identifies a number of key issues that should be addressed during the course of the Specialists Meeting.
