Angle of Arrival Observations of HF Radio Waves,
NAVAL RESEARCH LAB WASHINGTON DC
Pagination or Media Count:
This paper describes selected total angle of arrival observations of signals from HF transmitters at ranges from 41 to 1150 km, over a wide range of ionospheric conditions. Particular attention is paid to the physical interpretation of the observations, especially in terms of the effects of travelling ionospheric disturbances TIDs and multi-model propagation. Observations made during a mid-latitude particle-E event are also briefly described.
