Abstract:

For the development of the Alpha-Jet CFRP wing typical connections between different components were examined both theoretically and experimentally by doing this environmental conditions - component humidity and temperature - were considered mainly within the experimental work which was performed by the DFVLR-Stuttgart. This paper covers typical joints such as Single-shear connection between skins and spars with low load transfer joints between skins and ribs due to interior tank pressure and multi bolt joint between the CFRP skins and the fuselage attachment fittings with reference to bolt strength distribution bearing stresses.
