Generally, a heat shrinkable sleeve is made of cross-linked material, and an electron beam or peroxide method is used for the cross-linking process. We have developed a unique continuous manufacturing process utilizing peroxide cross-linking for the production of a heat shrinkable sleeve. This process is designed in order to accomplish cross-linking at atmospheric pressure, which involves great difficulties in manufacture, such as formation of bubbles or deformation of molding. The success of cross-linking at atmospheric pressure using peroxide has made a great contribution to the development of simple and economical equipment.
