Pagination or Media Count:
This paper will review efforts to reduce rework and pretinning of components by improving the solderability of incoming components used for military products. This paper will discuss some specification and in-house solderability issues however, the major portion of this paper will discuss the status of a component steam aging study effort which is designed to try to correlate artificial component steam aging to different storage environments and the impacts of solderability on long term component storage. This is considered a status report on the analysis of steam aging and component solderability as this study will continue for at least two more years to establish long term solderability effects.
