Abstract:

Titanate Coupling Agents are unique in that their reaction with the free protons at the inorganic interface results in the formation of hydrophobic-organophilic monomolecular layers on the inorganic surface creating novel surface energy modifications on particulates such as aluninum, resulting in significant dispersion and coupling effects in hydrocarbon and resinous media. The paper will deal with titanate chemistry reaction mechanisms, dispersion effects, viscosity reduction results, increased inorganic loadings, physical property, adhesion and conductivity data to postulate that the use of titanate coupling agents eliminate air and water from the inorganicorganic rocket fuel matrix to provide more uniforms burn for trajectory control accuracy and increased Btugal.
