Educational standards have been lowered for men and women and increasing numbers of women have enlisted. On the local level at Fort Gordon, there have been organizational changes in the structure and function of the Community Mental Health Activity. The availability of CMHA case files and curiosity as to the effects the above mentioned changes may have induced in our clinical case load, led to the present research. The data base for this investigation consists of the case files begun during the years 1977, 1978, and 1979 at Fort Gordon CMHA. The variables evaluated included client age, sex, education level, time in service, rank, type of unit training or permanent party, reason for referral, source of referral, and number of sessions seen.
