This paper addresses the attitude determination, acceleration transformation, and attitudeheading output computational operations performed in modern-day strapdown inertial navigation systems. Contemporary algorithms are described for implementing these operations in real-time computers. The attitude determination and acceleration transformation algorithm discussions are based on the two-speed approach in which high frequency coning and sculling effects are calculated with simplified high speed algorithms, with results fed into lower speed higher order algorithms.
