Abstract:

The battle for peace is vital to our national interest. Our nuclear deterrent is critical to winning that battle. Security is a major factor in keeping that nuclear deterrent viable. Vulnerabilities do exist including those in the areas the author has identified human response to equipment- related problems and prediction of human response under stress. The author believes that behavioral science and security practitioners can develop tools to help cope with these problems.
