Abstract:

This paper reflects on the method of data collection currently in use and compares it with an alternative data-collection methodology for Kind of information obtainable Objectivity and Cost. In order for the products of analysis to continue providing managers with adequate and timely decision-making information, the input must contain not only sufficient detail to produce those products, but it must also be objective and cost-effective as well. As the outputs become more numerous and sophisticated and their accompanying processing mechanisms are refined, the input methodology inevitably is impacted by these events. It must be reviewed and re-examined periodically to avoid being overcome by the advancing sophistication of these mechanisms.
