Abstract:
It is suggested that associated preexponential factors are 5 x 10 to the 5th power to 3 x 10 to the 7th power -1sec. A scheme using multiple parallel reactions with distributed parameters did not provide significantly better correlation. The relative smallness of the activation energies with respect to those representative of a chemically controlled process, the lack of better correlation with a multiple parallel reaction scheme, and the influence of atmosphere on the activation energy suggest that the production of these constituents from coal before ignition is governed, in part, by physical processes.
