The present investigation was undertaken in order to measure the rotational relaxation rate of molecular hydrogen by monitoring the number density of n-H2 in a state v 0 and J 1 in the supersonic nozzle flow, by means of coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy CARS. The CARS apparatus was essentially the same type of Regnier and Taran.
