Abstract:

A surface acoustic wave SAW device e.g., filter comprises a piezoelectric substrate such as lithium niobate, an input and an output interdigital transducer deposited on the substrate, in alignment, and a SAW shorted-grating waveguide disposed between the transducers. The shorted-grating waveguide has the same periodicity lambda2 as that of the inputoutput transducers. The waveguide is electrically isolated from the transducers. RH
