This patent discloses a robot gripping device for holding and gripping a variety of electronic components. The device comprises a guide frame, a drive motor and gripping blocks having fingers with prongs on the fingertips. The fingertips accommodate axial resistor-type components at v-grooves and radial capacitor-type components are accommodated by fingertip portions. Cylindrical can shaped components are accommodated by a slight beveling at fingertip portions as well as a set on prongs. The fingers are capable of controlled movements to various centered positions by means of a motor. When the fingers are brought together, they interlock.
