Synthesis of newlithiophenoxyphosphazene high polymers is described wherein polymers such as polydichlorophosphazene are used as the starting material to prepare polyorganophosphazenes by reaction thereof with sodium para-bromophenoxide. Polyorganophophazenes thus obtained are used in a metal-halogen exchange reaction with n-butyllithium. The lithio derivatives thus obtained are used as reactive intermediates for the synthesis of polymers of formulas NPOC6H4X-pxOC6H4BRyn and NPOC6H4Li-pxOPhyn, where X is PPh2, PPh2, PPh2C4H9Br-,SnPh3, AuPPh3, or COOH.
