The subject invention overcomes some of the difficulties inherent within the field of computer generated image simulation, including those mentioned above, in that it comprises a relatively simple computer generated image simulator. In particular, the subject invention was designed for the testing of the computer image generator display described in the aforementioned U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 104,521. Included in the subject invention are a head tracker for monitoring the horizontal, vertical, and rotational movement of the head of a trainee pilot, and an eye tracker for monitoring the horizontal and vertical movement of the eyes of the trainee pilot. Servomechanism means, which has attached thereto a visual target, rotates the visual target in accordance with the rotational movement of the head of the trainee pilot. A first television camera continuously scans the aforementioned visual target so as to allow for the broadcasting of the visual target upon the television screen of a display apparatus.
