Abstract:

The patent relates to a simple inexpensive underwater strain sensor which can monitor the strain, and parameters which are derived from the strain, of a sonar transducer of suitable geometry. Such a transducer is a radially oscillating, free-flooded, magnetostrictive ring transducer.
