This report summarizes the work conducted by the Project MX-800 during the period December 1948 through 6 February 1947. The Project MX-800 is engaged in the development of a supersonic, air-to-air guided missile to be used against hostile aircraft. The missile is to have a range of 6000 yards and a speed of 1500 mph, and is to be capable of intercepting aircraft flying at 750 mph. The use of radar for target detection and tracking is planned for guidance of the MX-800. The size and weight of the warhead were not yet determined.
