Abstract:

Heat exchanger was performance tested using exhaust gas rates from 4550 to 7000 lbhr and ventilating air rates from 2200 to 4750 lbhr. At exhaust gas rate of 5800 lbhr and air rate of 3000 lbhr, thermal output was 285,000 BTUhr and pressure drops were 6.2 in. water on air side and 14 in. on exhaust gas side. Pressure drop on exhaust gas side may possibly be reduced by decreasing cross-section area restriction and yet not greatly reducing thermal output.
