Abstract:
A novel method for location and characterization of discontinuities in biological systems is described. The method uses electromagnetic waves in the RF and microwave region of the spectrum, and a modified signal processing algorithm, previously used for estimation of the angle of arrival of radar signals. Results are presented for the case of a porcine skull section, backed by a porcine brain, and the skull backed by porcine blood and brain.
