Contemporary pattern recognition and signal detection procedures were used to develop computer software to derive indices of human responsivity to challenge. The goal of this research was to effectively recognize patterns in data obtained from both laboratory and field environments. This new technology may permit detection of pattern alterations that are induced by drug use and by Drug interaction and other challenges. It was felt that software developed and submitted to the Army could be used by the Army in the evaluation of soldier performance under a variety of conditions.
