Abstract:
This report covers the F-16 partial Field-of-View FOV visual simulator training effectiveness evaluation. An Image IIIT visual system was integrated on the F-16C operational flight trainer at the 58 TTW Luke AFB, AZ. F-16C instructor pilots and students evaluated the ability of a partial field- of-view visual system to support formal school training . Task areas evaluated were conversion, safety-of-flight, emergency procedures, air-to-air and air-to- surface. The results of this evaluation will be used by HQ TAC to determine if a partial FOV visual system can adequately support RTU training. From this is a strategy for incorporating additional simulator training into the training syllabi can be developed . This study provided TAC the opportunity to verify F- 16 simulator training task analysis. Keywords Aircrew training devices Flight simulators.
