Abstract:
Warner Robins Air Logistics CenterMMVF requested assistance from the Air Force Packaging Evaluation Agency to evaluate a Korean manufactured Harvest Eagle shippingstorage container as a possible replacement for the Brooks and Perkins bare base container. The purpose of this project was to determine if the container will withstand the transportation and environmental hazards encountered during transportation and long-term outside storage. Due to the presence of the two vents, the container is not environmentally sealed. There were also four bolt holes drilled in two of the container doors. The water that entered near the bottom hinges from being sprayed with the garden hose is the result of mechanical handling damage. The impacts bowed the lower frame out slightly away from the door. This created a gap that allowed water to pass through into the container.
