This study gives a brief description of the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet in the 1950s. It tries to show the Chinese actions during this period, and it highlights the reactions of the Tibetan government. World reaction to this invasion of Tibet has also been described. An attempt has also been made to expose the effects of the Chinese occupation of Tibet vis-a-vis Sino-Indian relations. The strategic advantage that the Chinese have acquired by occupying Tibet has been revealed.
