Abstract:
Rationales are presented for the development of room temperature curing polymers with 350 F performance potential. Polyallyl glycidyl ether cured with polyethylene imine provided the most highly crosslinked system formulated. This all aliphatic system with a glass transition temperature of approximately equal to 100 C did not exhibit a rubbery plateau in dynamic mechanical testing to 200 C. Other all aliphatic epoxy resin systems tested with lower crosslink densities exhibited rubbery plateau behavior above their glass transition temperatures. Author
