Abstract:
This report provides an overview of measures and indicators that might be used to evaluate the impact of health care system innovations on the systems effectiveness in accomplishing its fundamental objectives. This report identifies 11 areas of effectiveness quality availability accessibility acceptability appropriateness of utilization retention, recruitment, and training absenteeism personnel performance response to changing needs organizational image and contributions to society. Measures and indicators for each of these areas as well as for economy are presented, and the feasibility of collecting data and using them for evaluation is discussed.
