The Tactical Air Force Component Commander is assisted in the accomplishment of these missions by the Tactical Air Control System TACS. The TACS development program is an evolutionary effort. The TACS is composed of four basic subsystems. Aircraft Control and Warning Subsystem AC and W Tactical Air Support Subsystem TAS Air Traffic Control Subsystem ATC Command Communications Subsystem.
