Abstract:
Some noteworthy achievements of lower ranking enlisted men in peacetime often go unrecognized in spite of the commanders desire to do so because there is no existing procedure that will tangibly and appropriately recognize the exact degree of achievement. Company, Detachment, and Battery level commanders were selected since that is the lowest level where the needs of a large number of employees must be matched against the coverage of shortcomings of the existing awards, management, and promotion systems. The following hypotheses were tested 1 Lesser achievements should be tangibly and appropriately recognized and 2 A method of providing appropriate and tangible recognition can be identified. As a result of the survey and the study, both hypotheses were accepted.
