Abstract:

Technical photography on OPERATION HARDTACK included recording the visible aspects of all detonations. To accomplish this photography, EGG maintained automatically operated photostations on both Bikini and Eniwetok Atolls, and in addition, instrumented shipboard and aircraft stations for the underwater and high-altitude events. Complete processing and analysis facilities were maintained on Parry Island. This report contains a general summary of the EGG photographic effort and a detailed discussion of the methods and results pertinent to the fireball photography.
