The following were studied clinical and laboratory data, and renal histology light and electronmicroscopy of 194 patients with congential cyanotic heart disease Development of convenient, inexpensive methods for investigation of persons living at altitude or of patients with polycythemia or other disorders associated with renal hypoxia Animals in a hypobaric chamber semilated altitude or - 17,000 feet Function of isolated kidneys perfused with polycythemic and non-polycythemic blood Storage and measurement of various enzyme activities in blood, renal tissue, and urine. These, hopefully, will provide indices of physical fitness and ability to acclimatize to work at altitude.
