Inertial confinement fusion research is being vigorously pursued at the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and at other laboratories throughout the world. At the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, major emphasis has been placed upon the development of large, Ndglass laser systems in order to address the basic physics issues associated with light driven fusion targets.
