Written over ten years ago, this history of the Missile Defense Alarm System, or MIDAS as the program was generally known, remained classified and for the most part confined to a file drawer. Tattini, Commander of the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, declassified MIDAS, an action that liberated its history to be shared with a much wider audience.
