Abstract:

Pursuant to the Presidents Council on Environmental Quality CEQ regulations, Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations CFR Parts 1500-1508, as they implement the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act NEPA of 1969,42 U.S.C. 4321, et seq., and Air Force Instruction AFI 32-7061, Environmental Impact Analysis Process, as promulgated at 32 CFR Part 989, the U.S. Air Force conducted an assessment of the potential environmental consequences of the modification of the U.S. Central Command USCENTCOM Coalition Village and construction of permanent parking lots around the USCENTCOM facility at MacDill AFB, Florida. The environmental assessment EA considered potential impacts of the Proposed Action and all viable alternatives, both as solitary actions and in conjunction with other activities. This finding of no significant impact FONSI summarizes the results of the evaluation of the proposed construction project. The discussion focuses on activities that have the potential to change both the natural and human environments. The finding of no practicable alternative FONPA summarizes the options considered and states why the proposed modification to the USCENTCOM Coalition Village and construction of the permanent parking lots were designed and sited as proposed.
