This EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act NEPA of 1969, as amended. This EA assesses the potential environmental impacts of implementing the Base General Plan at Schriever AFB, which calls for improving infrastructure and constructing facilities. The Proposed Action would have short-term, but not significant impacts on air quality from construction. The Proposed Action would conform to the State Implementation Plan and would be exempt from further conformity review. Short-term disturbance to geological resources would occur during construction impacts would not be significant. Impacts to surface water from stormwater runoff would not be significant as a result of project design. No significant impacts were identified for biological resources. Construction equipment and associated traffic would generate short-term increases in noise during normal working hours. Noise increases would be below thresholds for significance. No issues pertaining to environmental justice were identified. There would be no significant impacts to cultural resource, visual resources, socioeconomics, solid waste, or hazardous materials and wastes. In addition to the Proposed Action, alternatives were analyzed in the EA for taking no action and for constructing facilities at a more rapid pace than the General Plan indicates. No impacts were associated with the No Action Alternative, and no significant impacts would be expected for the Accelerated Construction Alternative.
