The long-term goal is to develop a new approach to the description of sea surface taking into account the presence of the coherent and phase correlated 3-d wind wave patterns observed frequently in the gravity and gravity-capillary range. The eventual goal is to develop a model of the surface adequate for remote sensing and helpful for the parametrization of the small-scale ocean-atmosphere momentum transfer.
