Abstract:

Progress on the building of AGOR 28, oceanographic research vessel Sally Ride. Work continues on initial outfitting lists for Sally Ride and NS5 Hierarchy. DCI continues with the cleaning and prepping of Ride staterooms for closeouts. In the galley and mess, the exhaust hood wash-down system cabinet has been installed, plumbed and connected to electrical service. Yard will next install the wash-down spray bar and drain hose. Main Lab deck treatment completed. Ceiling panels and lighting are being installed in the Wet Lab. The fire pumps and piping were tested with Coast Guard in attendance. No issues or discrepancies noted. Cummins is on board working on isolating the engine DC circuits from the vessel. Cummins Siemens have corrected the emergency stop issues. The generator breakers now open immediately on receiving the emergency stop signal. Originally the trip was wired for a delayed shutdown, which caused the breaker to remain closed while the engine shutdown, resulting in a reverse power relay trip. Complete the Kongsberg K-Thrust portion of the Periodic Safety Test Procedure with USCG in attendance. All tests were completed without faults
