Franciscella heat shock protein DnaK binds to alkaline phosphatase thus reducing enzymatic activity, A Franciscella protein component responsible for alkaline phosphatase inhibition was identified. We present a novel mechanism used by a bacterial pathogen to evade the hosts defense.
