Abstract:

Substance use disorders SUD and posttraumatic stress disorder PTSD are prominent disorders among Service Members SMs. These disorders sometimes go untreated due to SMs lack of awareness, access to care, or stigma about accessing care. Seeking Safety SS is an evidence-based model for comorbid SUDPTSD. This study evaluates the SS manual and Adherence Scale in a military setting. We have completed this project, including obtaining all necessary IRBHRPO approvals, collecting all phase 1 data analyzing that data with findings of significant positive outcomes, which is currently under revision as a journal article presenting the phase 1 data at several national conferences collecting phase 2 data which did not diverge from the phase 1 data created the military monograph aka supplement and adherence scale, created an additional deliverable that was not in the original SOW but appears highly useful to the project a SS militaryveteran website and produced a large number of scientific publications during the study period.
