The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Developmental Test and Evaluation DASDDTE tasked IDA to collect, organize, and assess best practices and lessons learned BPLL for performing and supporting DTE by government and industry provide tools for DASDDTE staff specialists, program offices, and test organizations to provide faster response in DTE planning and execution and provide an organized, easily accessible, and interactive web-based DoD-level repository of TE BPLL available for the acquisition and TE communities. The task involved several distinct subtasks. First, applicable lessons learned and best practices were collected. These, along with discussions with experienced personnel, were used to derive the initial set of DTE best practices. Next, the team developed the necessary software and protocols to establish the DTE Forum website on a webserver operated by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics OUSDATL. Finally, the team assessed the potential for the DTE Forum to be the model for DTE s Internal Website. This paper describes the approach and activities used to carry out the tasking, and the results obtained.
