Abstract:

The National Guard State Partnership Program SPP is a twenty year old program that provides a training environment that enhances military-military and civil-military proficiency in Security and Stability operations while performing critical security cooperation activities for Combatant Commanders. This, coupled with the Army National Guards Strategic Imperative of partnering with Combatant Commanders to provide relevant, ready forces capable of performing unified land operations worldwide is the framework for building partner capacity in support of the Combatant Commanders strategic objectives. Sharing ideas, building relationships, and seeking global security is becoming crucially more important as we move to globalization, global supply chains, and interdependency. Security Cooperation has clearly become a strategic imperative and, as such, has been addressed in virtually every key defense document from the National Security Strategy to the National Defense and Military Strategies and down to the CBT CDRs Strategies.
