Lethal rabbit CN poisoning models have been developed in our lab. Animals are monitored for oxy- and deoxy-Hb ratio changes by diffuse optical spectroscopy DOS and continuous wave near infrared spectroscopy CWNIRS, breathed gas parameters, blood gas values and blood pressure during CN treatment and reversal. This year, stability and IM antidote administration studies have been completed using DMTS alone as the CN antidote, one of the 3 novel therapeutic agents under development with our collaborators. DMTS was dissolved in 15 polysorbate solution, and found to be stable for 1 month. DMTS was successfully administered by IM injection, survival form 15 controls to 70.
